COVID-19 Update

In light of recent developments with COVID-19 (The Corona Virus), WestPaws Veterinary Center is implementing a plan to help protect our clients and our team. These plans will be updated as things continue to evolve.  Please monitor your email, Facebook and the website for further developments.

So far, there has been no evidence that pets are able to transmit the virus back and forth with humans.  WestPaws Veterinary Center is committed to providing care to our patients.  We our concerned for our clients and staff with human to human transmission. Airborne transmission is our primary concern at this point.  Surface contamination is another way of passing the virus but is something we manage routinely as we are a veterinary facility.  It is standard for us to disinfect surfaces and wash our hands between each patient.  Our goal is to limit exposure between individuals.

Our Current Plan

  • We will continue our cleaning protocols while adding additional cleaning of phones, door handles, computer surfaces, and desks multiple times during the day.

  • We are going to ask that if possible all payments are made by credit card over the phone.  We will ask that you sign a digital invoice that can be sent to your phone.  We will still accept cash and checks but ask that you try to avoid this.

  • We are going to restrict access to the inside of the hospital.  We are asking that all appointments be Pet Only.  See below.

  • We will ask that you call when you arrive or beep the horn and a technician wearing a mask for everyones safety will come and get your pet.   All pets must be secured in a carrier or on a leash.  If your pet is on a leash a second leash will be placed before taking your pet for safety.

  • Our bathroom will not be accessible to anyone other than staff at this time.

WestPaws Veterinary Center is committed to providing your pet with the veterinary care it needs.  If you have been possibly exposed yourself or are currently having any symptoms please stay home.  If your pet requires medical attention please notify us that you have symptoms so we can take further precautions for our staff and other clients.

Pet Only Appointment. 

A staff member wearing a mask will meet you at your car.  Please park in front of the building as close as possible. Please remain in your car during the appointment and the doctor will call to speak with you on the phone about your pet. We will also take payment over the phone before you leave. We will then bring your pet and any medications back out to your vehicle.  Please remember all pets must be secured in a carrier or will be double leashed before leaving your vehicle.  This is for the safety of your pet.

If you need to pick up food or medications please call ahead.  We will take payment over the phone.  Again please call or beep on arrival.  You may also go onto our website and order through our online store.
